Bit'Z Kids ~ Review

This review was a disaster and I'm going to have to report it as such. I have never had something like this happen.

Bit'Z Kids has wonderfully cute, stylish, and quality clothes for children. The outfit you see on Ju above was provided to me by them to review.

I took this pic of him releasing the butterflies he raised, right before we left for the lakes this Summer. I packed this outfit, planning to take some amazing pictures of him at the scenic lake. When I got there I couldn't find the top. I called home and it couldn't be found here either. We all looked EVERYWHERE for this top.

So when I got home from the trip I called the cleaners from the lake house and everything. The shirt was gone, and I was ready to pop with Capri.

I went into false labor while my Grandma was still here. Following this life got hectic - lots of out of town doctors appts to monitor my progress. Super hectic & stressful with swollen feet & hot summer.

I get a rather nasty letter from Bit'Z Kids owner. I can't say I blamed him but figured once I explained he would completely understand. I still planned on hosting the review. I decided I would purchase another shirt to replace the lost one. I told him I would do it the next day but didn't realize the credit card was maxed. I paid the card and about a week later I go & order the shirt. The day after it arrives in the mail, I get a really nasty letter billing me and dropping words like "attorney fees".

Honestly this review was near the last thing on my mind at this point - I was two weeks over due and facing the opposite type of delivery that I had worked hard to prepare for. And after the letter, I was ready not to do the thing anyway.

But in all fairness, I did take way longer than normal to get this work done. But it in no way warranted the treatment I received and I'm not going to give a great review. I hope that this shop owner treated me like this on a fluke, just as my delay and loosing of the shirt was a fluke on my part.

Wow! I will put them on my list of companies to not work with. I thought a company realized when working with a "mommy blogger" (for lack of a better word) that family come first, and yourself when preggo (especially overdue lol) I think your reasoning behind not posting it in a timely manner was a valid one. Their loss, you would have probably posted a awesome review of them!

You would think working with a kids clothing company that they would understand when kids come first (even the yet-to-be-born ones!). I'm sorry you had such a negative experience. To date your reviews have always been honest and well-written. It would surely have been worth a little wait for the company to have good publicity here.

I just saw them at at PR group. Glad I didn't go with them! We need this kind of information to be out there. Mom bloggers need to share about companies that don't respect us as advertisers!

I think you were very fair, especially by purchasing your own shirt after the other one was lost and as for the craziness of life and trying to be in touch with that person? You did exactly what you should've!

Thanks for your honesty!

Sincerely,

Mimi

Um, yeah... I won't be working with or buying from this company. Honestly, any company that is that worried about their bottom line and obviously lacks compassion, is out as far as I'm concerned. That was major bad PR for them, for sure!

I know that you said you understood the really negative reaction, but that you thought they would calm down once you explained your situation.

I on the other hand think that pr reps should act professionally, and part of that means not making assumptions or being rude before they ASK what happened with the review and such. Am curious how long it took to get the review up, but i think that regardless of how long it took they should ask questions before acting unprofessional and rude.

Stinks to have such negative experiences with pr reps/companies even if it is just a fluke.

It's a cute shirt, but there's no way I would want to purchase from a company that behaves this way.
And it may have been "slow" compared to your normal speed, but I'm sure it was still within a normal time range - and much faster than if it would have been for a review in a print magazine or corporate website.
One of the reasons I love blog reviews is that you do get to hear the type of information (good and bad) that you won't learn in an advertisement. This is very helpful, so thank you! :)
