The name Marzetti is synonymous with dressings and dips, perfect compliments for your salads, fruits, and vegetables.
I've always considered Marzetti a kind of specialty brand. I've grown up with Marzetti being located in the produce section of the grocery store, rather than being in the aisle with other dressing and sauces. It kind of proves that Marzetti just naturally belongs with vegetables. Not only is the location of Marzetti different from other dressings, but the selection, and quality is different too.
Growing up, my dad always had a jar of Marzetti Blue Cheese in the fridge. My mom always had a jar of poppyseed. And my grandma always used Marzetti coleslaw dressing. Marzetti was a brand that was always in our home.
No other dressings had quite the amount of blue cheese crumbles, or the sweetness of Marzetti poppyseed dressing.
Over the years I've become a vinaigrette girl. raspberry, mango, balsamic. I like the tangyness, but also, a good vinaigrette feels clean and more healthy than a heavy cream-based dressings. In the summertime, when we are heavy on salads, you'll find me making my own dressings and I get quite fancy – different oils ( hazelnut oil being a favorite ), flavored vinegars, and experimenting with fresh herbs – I've come up with some dressing combinations that I just loved.
I was recently chosen byT.Marzetti and company and Clever Girls Collective to host a Marzetti Simply Dressed review. I was excited to hear an all-time favorite brand was launching a line of all-naturals. Made with natural ingredients like extra-virgin olive oil, sea salt, and canola oil- leaving out ingredients, like preservatives, tran fats, and high fructose corn syrup, I was excited to give Simply Dressed a try.
So, the perfect night to try, I decided, was lasagna night. I made up a big batch of lasagna, garlic bread, and a nice big salad with lots of fresh veggies. I picked up a Marzetti Simply Dressed Balsamic dressing & Simply Dressed ranch for the boys. Yum! We take our lasagna night serious. We don't do lasagna too often, so it's a special meal. Everyone helps in the kitchen – it's a family affair. And Marzetti simply dressed fit right in. The vinaigrette was really yummy – part sweet, part tart, seasoned perfectly, I have a new favorite! The boys didn't comment specifically, but I'm guessing by the way they cleaned their plates, the ranch was pretty good!
Natural, healthy foods are an important part of how I choose to feed my family. I'm a label reader. I'm picky. No artificial sweeteners, no preservatives, no trans fats. I want real foods, not foods made in labs, to help build strong kids with healthy futures.
But not just for my kids, for me. It's important for me to teach them now how to eat for health. It's always great to find prepared foods that you can find in your local market that are quick to pick up and good quality healthy food. It just makes sense. Marzetti Simple Dressed is one that's quick, flavorful, and healthy.
