This lemonade is my go to health tonic. It tastes amazing and makes me feel good.
It gives me energy and I can tell if I go a day without it. So I don't.
This concoction has the ability to fight off colds, generally boost your immune system, alkalize your body, and provide an exhilarating rush of energy.
I sometime buy fresh peppers and slice them into the lemonade instead of the dried cayenne. I just pay attention to the heat index and add sparingly until I get a feel for the heat it will give. Regular chilies I can add about half a pepper, minus the spine & seeds. If I use Habanero, I only need maybe a fourth a pepper. I like the heat. Just play with small amount until you find what you like.
I also add a bit of turmeric on occasion. It adds a nice yellow color and adds the health benefits of turmeric, without changing the flavor.
You can also do shots - a concentrated elixir. Just don't add the water. This will give you flood of energy and concentration. Perfect for pre- workout, study , or day at work - this will get you going.
- 2 organic lemons, washed well and sliced in half
- 1 2-inch piece of fresh ginger, washed well
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 Tbs. Stevia , 1 cp refined sugar, or raw honey
Juice the lemons & add juice to gallon pitcher. Slice the ginger into thin strips & add to pitcher. Add cayenne pepper. Add sweetener. Fill pitcher with filtered water. Allow to sit at room temperature for at least an hour, allowing the ingredients to infuse the water and flavors to blend.
Serve over ice & Enjoy!
I save all my lemon peel for another healthy concoction, but that is for another day!
