Get Your Best Skin With Oils! #AncientGreekRemedyOil

The beauty market is grabbing hold of the benefits of oils for beautiful skin. But any experienced skin care guru knows the importance of having pure oils in your cabinet. That can be kitchen cabinet even. In fact, that's the best place to start.

Many oils that are healthy for us in the kitchen are as healthy for our beauty regimen. When you use edible oils, you know you are getting pure oils that contain no chemicals - food grade.

Many of us grew up thinking oil + skin = breakouts. But our skin produces oils to lubricate and waterproof the skin. You need the oil to keep your skin flexible during normal movement of the face. I hope your days are filled with laughter, but if your skin isn't properly lubricated, you'll develop laugh lines to prove it.

How To Use Oils On The Skin:

  • Oil Cleansing -

Oil dissolves oil.

Just think about gum stuck in hair. What do you use to take it out? Another oil - peanut butter, or straight oil. Or how you remove sticky tape residue from a surface - an oil based solvent or straight oil.  Same with your skin. The oil used to massage your skin will dissolve the oil that has hardened along with impurities inside your pores. The steam will open your pores, allowing the solidified oil to be removed.

It's as basic as that.

I practice oil cleansing twice a week and love the results.

  • Moisturizing -

For centuries people have taken advantage of the healing and moisturizing benefits of oils for the skin. Before modern times there were no fancy cremes that "included" oils, people used single ingredient oils the way nature intended.

Oils absorb quickly and do not leave oily residue but are used by the skin. Oils are rich with vitamin A and vitamin E and are also packed with anti-oxidants, Omega-6 fatty acids, and linoleic acid.

My Current Favorite Oil:

I am absolutely loving an oil blend called Ancient Greek Remedy by Bliss of Greece. Made of 100% pure organic cold pressed olive oil, lavender essential oil, almond oil, & grapeseed oil.

  • Olive Oil - Anti-oxidant rich, the ideal DIY skincare ingredient, all-purpose, all types, great for aged skin, good choice for eczema
  • Lavender Essential Oilantiseptic and antifungal, treats various skin disorders such as acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions, speeds up the healing process of wounds, cuts, burns, and sunburns, also used to treat eczema
  • Almond Oil - mild enough for babies, light texture can penetrate deep to cleanse, removes dark circles, treats eczema & psoriasis, great for rashes/is anti-inflammatory, reduce and reverse fine lines and wrinkles
  • Grapeseed Oil - helps regulate skins natural oil production of oil, astringent properties that tighten the skin, treats acne, rich in beta-carotene, and vitamins D, C and E and is packed with fatty acids, locks in moisture, rich in oligomeric proanthocyanidins/OPC which aids in restoring collagen

This is a decades old family recipe for amazing skin. As you can see they blended skin loving oils to make a super elixir for the skin.

I have used this for both cleansing and moisturizing - it's very versatile and effective.

I usually use a pure, one ingredient oil and add other oils to it in my palm per use. Sometimes lavender oil, sometimes frankincense oil. I love that this is pre-blended for me. The scent is wonderful, perfect for a nighttime skin treatment as the lavender is deep and calming.
