If you've been around on Pinterest or Instagram lately, you've seen the beautifully artful smoothie bowls - so many varieties, so pretty.
I do a smoothie every day for breakfast. Normally just kefir and fruit in a glass. Seeing smoothie bowls and all the wonderful things you can add to them, I decided it was time to try.
I have seen green ones and normally the green comes from adding leafy greens. At first sight of the green I thought of matcha and so I made a matcha kefir smoothie bowl.
It was fun to make. I used the fresh fruit and healthy seeds and nuts I had on hand to decorate my pretty green bowl. This was my first smoothie bowl but I am excited to get creative with this breakfast for me and my family. My daughter helped me and wants to make her own :))
The health benefits here are pretty amazing depending on what you add and the options are endless.
Just from the matcha alone, I get a long list of powerful health benefits :

So to make your own...
- You'll need a base of a good quality yogurt or kefir. Add a banana when blending to help thicken.
- To that you can add things to flavor or add health benefit - matcha, avocado, coconut oil, leafy greens, honey, flax meal, nut butters. Get creative! Experiment! Find your favorite combinations!
- For the add ons get super creative - granola, fresh fruits or berries, nuts, seeds, coconut, spices, bee pollen... whatever sounds good, will fill you up, whatever adds health!
